Event Details

The perfect lead-in to the Troy Hidden Garden tour!  Learn how to design a lush shade garden with layered planting strategies of plant combinations.  Key design elements of form, shape, texture, and color will be discussed along with lots of inspiration for you to create your own layered shade garden.  

Denise Maurer is a Master Gardener with CCE - Rensselaer County.  She has specialized in residential interior design for over 38 years.  Her sense of design is carried into her personal gardening style where she combines flowers and vegetables with ornamentation.  Denise is a frequent speaker on the subject of gardening using color and design.
